Avatar Kinect, which will allow Avatars to hang out in simulated social settings, is going to roll out in the next few months. However, this feature has been a long time coming, and eager Kinect owners may have been wondering what the holdup was. Apparently, it was the Kinect peripheral itself.  While the Kinect can track body movements with extreme accuracy, it’s not able to track facial movements very well. However, with Avatar Kinect, the peripheral will get the ability to track facial movements in real-time. It will be accurate enough to reflect smiles, frowns, and other facial gestures. Though Avatar Kinect does not have an official release date yet, it should be rolling out sometime within the next few weeks. |
