Like having a physical copy of your games, in the event something ever goes wrong and you’ll eventually be unable to play them when servers or stores disappear? Well, PC owners won’t get that reassurance with Battlefield 1 . EA has confirmed the PC copy will only be available digitally. Better buddy up with Origin!
This doesn’t mean you won’t see the PC version of Battlefield 1 in retail stores. It will still have a presence. You’ll just be buying a box with a code inside. At least you’ll have something to put on your shelf!
Not that this is a cause for concern. Many PC games are digital-exclusives. Battlefield 1 is hardly an anomaly. And EA is a pretty trustworthy and established company. We aren’t going to see it disappear anytime soon. I think you can safely invest in a copy and be sure you’ll have access to it for years to come.
