In a blog post by Best Buy Chief Marketing Officer Barry Judge, as picked up by IGN, Best Buy stores in the greater Dallas area will be testing out “a kiosk-based trade-in service” for used video games. Recently, Walmart jumped into the used game fray with its own kiosk-based service. However, unlike the system used by the world’s largest retailer, Best Buy will be giving you instant gratification via a Best Buy gift card. That means game trades will be able to be applied toward any and all merchandise offered at Best Buy. “It’s a pretty slick system and one of the few trade-in programs to provide instant gratification; you get the gift card on the spot and can redeem it on anything in the store – not just another game,” stated Judge. |
