Is Blizzard Working on Remastering Some of Your Favorite Classics?

This is great news for those of you who, like me, believe that Blizzard’s best games are in the past. Diablo II , for example, is a game that surpasses its sequel in almost every way. With every patch I’ve gone back to Diablo III just hoping that I’d feel the magic that I felt in the glory days of Diablo II . Something about the character builds and progression in III just lacked the gratification you could get from building the perfect “blizz sorc” or “hammerdin” in 2, and Blizzard severed one of the greatest community ties among the Diablo player-base when it effectively killed the player-to-player trading economy.

What if Diablo II – and other Blizzard classics like StarCraft and WarCraft III – were to return? Imagine playing these timeless gems with updated visuals and a renewed, vibrant, online community. This could be what’s in store for us in the not-too-distant future. It seems that Blizzard has been seeking out some talented people to make this dream a reality. Check out the following job posting:

“Compelling stories. Intense multiplayer. Endless replayability. Qualities that made StarCraft , Warcraft III , and Diablo II the titans of their day. Evolving operating systems, hardware, and online services have made them more difficult to be experienced by their loyal followers or reaching a new generation. We’re restoring them to glory, and we need your engineering talents, your passion, and your ability to get tough jobs done.” I don’t know about you guys, but that’s all the evidence I need; now we just have to wait for some reveal trailers and release dates.
