At the recent Citi 2011 Tech Conference, Blizzard COO Thomas Tippl said that Blizzard will be releasing six “properties” within the next three years. This comes as a welcome surprise to Blizzard fans who are generally used to Blizzard releasing games whenever they feel like it. The properties he outlined were two StarCraft II expansion packs, two World of Warcraft expansions, and Diablo III, along with its own expansion pack. Now, the two StarCraft expansion packs don’t really come as a surprise. We even already know their names: Heart of the Swarm for the Zerg expansion and Legacy of the Void for the Protoss expansion. The World of Warcraft expansions haven’t been named, but we could have pretty much guessed that WoW would be getting additional content within the next three years. The Diablo III announcement on the other hand was a big surprise. Since the game isn’t even out yet, it was interesting to find out that Blizzard is already planning an expansion pack for it.
