This morning IGN reported that Beyond Good & Evil HD is in the works and slated for a downloadable release on Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network sometime in 2011. Though we expect essentially the same game released back in 2003, the characters and textures will see significant visual improvements, and the entire game will be retooled to support 1080p fidelity. The soundtrack is also being re-mastered, and achievements/trophies will be packed in as well.  For those folks unfamiliar with this particular Ubisoft franchise, Beyond Good & Evil was an action-adventure romp developed by Rayman creator Michel Ancel. Though something of a flop at retail, Beyond Good & Evil has become a beloved cult favorite amongst gamers. With its mix of unique gameplay elements and endearing story and characters, Beyond Good & Evil is poised to win over a whole new legion of fans with this latest HD offering. |
