BioShock Infinite Nears 4 Million Shipped

BioShock Infinite Nears 4 Million Shipped

BioShock Infinite is one of those rare games that has that delicious confluence of critical acclaim and retail success. The latest from Ken Levine has shipped 3.7 million units worldwide since its release at the end of March.

This is all on the strength of the base game, since the first DLC (of the three planned for the Season Pass) is still in the works.

BioShock Infinite’s success has been one of the major contributing factors in Take-Two’s profitable 2013 fiscal year. It joins the likes of Borderlands 2 and XCOM: Enemy Unknown, alongside Rockstar’s evergreen releases (Grand Theft Auto IV and Red Dead Redemption).

Does this mean we’ll soon see more BioShock from the folks at Irrational? There’s the upcoming DLC, but as to a new game, Ken Levine has stated that he has yet to start writing anything.
