Multiplayer for BioShock: Infinite Not Guaranteed

Multiplayer for BioShock: Infinite Not Guaranteed

None

While the second BioShock decided to incorporate multiplayer into its experience, the first BioShock seemed to manage just fine without it. In a series that seems so focused on the single-player experience and narrative, standard multiplayer modes just don’t seem to fit into that equation. Speaking with Kotaku, Irrational Games creative director Ken Levine outlined their plans for multiplayer in the upcoming BioShock: Infinite.

Levine states “Here’s what I have to say about multiplayer. It’s what we said about BioShock 1: We have not made any determinations about multiplayer.” Explaining their hesitation to announce multiplayer he continues “I will say that we experiment with things, but for us we are never interested in making a multiplayer mode you could just play in some other game. Because, A) that’s not creatively interesting and B), financially, you’re wasting your time. They’re going to go play Halo. They’re going to go play Call of Duty.” We’ll have to wait and see if Infinite comes with some “interesting” multiplayer modes or will just follow suit with the first BioShock and ignore it all together.
