BlazBlue Extends Its Story

BlazBlue Extends Its Story

None

Fighting games and story generally go together like two magnets with the same polarity. BlazBlue, however, has drawn a significant fandom to its winding tale of crazy half-vampires, possessed swordsmen, and genetically-engineered femme fatales. Plus, there’s a cat-monster and a bug-ghost thing. This series is nuts, but the story appeals to those who are deeply entrenched in the world of anime and manga, and for good reason: it’s well done, with branching paths that elucidate each character’s story in bits and pieces.

With the upcoming BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend, that story mode is getting a boost. Not only will it include the original Calamity Trigger story, but some scenes within it will be either remastered or entirely new.

In sum: that’s 23 individual storylines with multiple endings, as well as unlockable “final stories” that provide a “true ending” for any given character. Further, there will be two bonus stories (“Sector Seven” and “Academy”) that will provide players with insight into the two primary BlazBlue factions.

Oh, and “Teach me Miss Litchi” is back. So is “Help Me Prof. Kokonoe.”

Did we mention the new stories for Makoto Nanaya, Valkenhayn R Hellsing, Platinum the Trinity, and Relius Clover? No? Well, they’re in there.

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend will be out in the first quarter of this year on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.
