Blizzard Suing Overwatch Cheat Program Developer

There are people out there who like easy wins. They’ll resort to exploits, trainers, and other means to acquire fame and fortune the easy way. Blizzard only wants legitimate players enjoying Overwatch , so it’s going after a big Overwatch cheater. It’s suing Bossland over its Watchover Tyrant program.

Here’s what the Watchover Tyrant Overwatch cheat program does. When you subscribe, you get to see friendlies and hostiles on the radar. You can see their names, health, distance, hostile, box, headdot, and traceline. You can also choose to display crosshairs, FPS, resolution, and time.  You can even tell when people are dead or alive.

Blizzard’s complaint against Bossland alleges it contributes to copyright infringements and violates the DMCA anti-circumvention provision. In response, Bossland has in the past said it would work to make Watchover Tyrant more difficult to detect. When speaking to TorrentFreak , Bossland’s CEO, Zwetan Letschew, claims the California court will have no jurisdiction over the German company and noted other legal battles against Blizzard for similar programs it has made for World of Warcraft and Heroes of the Storm. Letschew also mentioned a case earlier this year where Blizzard’s case against them for its Heroes of the Storm program was thrown out and Blizzard had to pay legal fees for Bossland.

Hopefully, Blizzard wins this case and gets Watchover Tyrant shut down. Overwatch is better without cheating. If it doesn’t, though, at least we can take solace in knowing this program isn’t the worst cheat program out there.
