Borderlands 2 Available On PSN At Launch

Borderlands 2 Available On PSN At Launch

A big step was taken toward standardizing digital distribution today. Borderlands 2 was announced to be available as a downloadable title off PSN the day of its disc release, September 18.

You can pre-order the downloadable version in Europe right now, but not in America. In addition, the digital version won’t give you Premiere Club access. Yes, unfortunately that means you will never be able to open the golden chest in the city of Sanctuary.

So, it’s not perfect, but it is a day-one downloadable triple-A title. That’s something that is rare in our current market space. Hopefully we will be seeing more games follow Borderlands’ example in the future. Until then, it sure makes obtaining the game convenient for anyone who hasn’t pre-ordered it yet, or who hasn’t decided to give it a shot on the PC.

Stay tuned for our full review of Borderlands 2.
