Boy Makes Bomb Threat From PS3

None

An ominous message appeared on the Japanese 2chan a few days ago. It read: “tomorrow I will blow up Hiroshima station.” Obviously, police got to work tracing this mysterious bomber’s IP address, and they soon found that the threat was sent from a PS3. Then, when the user’s PSN account was posted to 2chan later that same night, the police had no problems tracking down the threat-maker. It turned out our mysterious bomber was just an unemployed 19-year-old kid who had made threats with his PS3 before.

Earlier in the year, a 15-year-old boy made threats via his DSi, saying he would stab someone randomly in Shinjuku Station. When arrested, he said, “I just wanted to see how much chaos it would make.” Shortly thereafter, the boy’s brother made similar threats, going as far as to actually bring a knife to the station and start screaming, “I’m going to kill someone!”

All of these boys thought they would be untraceable if they posted their threats with a gaming console. They were wrong.

Then again, strange happenings around Shinjuku and Hiroshima are how some Japanese horror RPGs start…
