Broken Sword Is Back

Broken Sword Is Back

Kickstarter: Now the venue for all of your treasured childhood memories to find new life in the modern era of gaming, or so it would seem. Between a sequel to Wasteland from the mind behind it and the excellent Fallout series to a remake of Leisure Suit Larry, the donation website has become a new breeding ground for independent projects from big names in the classic gaming scene. Brian Fargo, Al Lowe, and Tim Schafer have all had their time in the limelight, but now they need to make way for Charles Cecil.

Who is Charles Cecil? He’s the original mind behind the Broken Sword series of point-and-click adventure games, the first of which has seen an updated rerelease on the DS, Wii, and iOS. The first two were notable for their luscious animated, mature plots and excellent characterizations. If you haven’t, you should probably head to GoG.com and get them.

Cecil is now gunning for a new entry in the series, funded by the fans. He has a creative and intriguing Kickstarter pitch video and a $400k goal. Let’s help him reach it, shall we?
