Browser-based Game Bridges Gap Between Dragon Age II and Dragon Age Inquisition

In tandem to how Dragon Age Keep will help you morph the story of Dragon Age: Inquisition to better suit your preference, a tie-in for the browser-based companion app will help bridge the gap of the events between the second Dragon Age game and the third addition to the series.

Essentially, the browser-based companion app (which has recently gone into Open Beta) takes key moments, decisions and choices and extrapolates them across the Inquisition’s story, characters and so on–pretty much what the interactive mini-stories for a couple of the Mass Effect games do, which lets you choose key decisions that will have an affect on the continuation of the game’s story.

This new tie-in, entitled “ The Last Court ”, co-developed by Failbetter Games, will tell a new story in an unseen region of Orlais, a large and powerful nation in the Dragon Age universe. What’s more is that some familiar faces are allegedly expected to be seen in the tie-in story.

In Dragon Age: The Last Court , you are the ruler of Serault: an eccentric fiefdom at the farthest ends of Orlais. As the Huntress or the Scholar you’ll guide your realm through the most crucial period in its history. Will its ancient Shame be forgiven? Or will Serault fall into obscurity? ” describes Failbetter Games’ Chris Gardiner on the studio’s official website .

This is a game of lordship. You’ll manage the affairs of your court. You’ll choose a counsellor, a bodyguard, an accomplice and a lover. You’ll balance the concerns of your subjects. Will Serault be renowned for its dignity or its freedom? What is the greatest threat: outlaws, revolutionaries, or the the nameless ancient things that slither in its deep woods?

There are stories to explore and secrets to unravel. What lies in the Sealed Chantry? Who is the Horned Knight? Who is behind Serault’s recent troubles? You’ll meet a host of new characters, like the Purveyor of Teas and the Acerbic Dowager. And maybe you’ll run into a few familiar faces from other Dragon Age titles…

PC Gamer reports that The Last Court will be added to Dragon Age Keep in just over a week, but no official release date has been given for the tie-in yet. Below are embedded preview videos from Twitch streamer and YouTuber, Lady Insanity, who outlines in detail what The Last Court is and what you can do in it.

Dragon Age: Inquisition’s executive producer Mark Darrah proclaimed that the game would be delayed until later on this year . The game was initially intended to release worldwide on Tuesday, October 7, and it will now release in North America on Tuesday, November 18.

No change was mentioned about the game’s release on platforms, however, so it’ll be safe to assume that the game will still launch on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. We’ll bring you more news on Dragon Age: Inquistion should further information reach our ears.
