Bungie Explains Why North Replaces Dinklage in Destiny

Bungie Explains Why North Replaces Dinklage in Destiny

It may come as a relief to some people that Peter Dinklage is being replaced as the Ghost in Destiny very soon. His performance as a robotic companion wasn’t exactly a fan favorite. It turns out that isn’t the reason why Bungie is replacing him with Nolan North in both Destiny and its The Taken King expansion. Rather, it’s an availability issue.

When Mark Noseworthy, Destiny ‘s Executive Producer, was speaking with Game Informer , he said the change was because of a need to have someone more accessible. Due to Dinklage’s other commitments, it would be difficult to call and have him come in at short notice for an additional recording session. North is much more available for such requests, because he’s primarily a voice actor.

Dinklage will be completely removed from Destiny come September 15. That’s when North steps in, all of Dinklage’s lines in Destiny are replaced, and The Taken King is released.
