According to The Behemoth, hit indie multiplayer beat-em-up Castle Crashers is coming to Steam. It’s been a while since the game’s original release, but better late than never. No specific date has been announced yet, although the developers themselves have said it’s “Almost Here!”
The Steam version will be playable on the show floor of Gamescom as a celebration of The Behemoth’s first GC appearance. After Gamescom, they will be bringing Castle Crashers to PAX along with a brand new game, BattleBlock Theater.
The Steam version of Castle Crashers will include local and online multiplayer, gamepad support, Steam Cloud support, and more. The rest of the game, however, is assumed to be identical to the console release.
The Behemoth has not yet announced a price for the Steam version of Castle Crashers, but it is likely to be comparable to its original console release. Perhaps we’ll even see it gracing the face of a Humble Indie Bundle sometime soon?
