Published via YouTube on Tuesday, August 19, an official gameplay demo of Dark Souls developer From Software’s Bloodborne was showcased at this year’s Gamescom in Germany, showing off bloodied combat with a lot of dodging and swinging.
“ Face your fears as you search for answers in the ancient city of Yharnam, now cursed with a strange endemic illness spreading through the streets like wildfire. Danger, death and madness lurk around every corner of this dark and horrific world, and you must discover its darkest secrets in order to survive, ” the gameplay’s description reads, regarding details about the game itself.
Officially announced at this year’s E3 in June, Bloodborne (which is connected to the previously rumored “Project Beast” , once thought to be a new Souls title) has been slated to release in early 2015 ; Sony’s official E3 2014 brochure revealed that the game would release during the first quarter of next year, meaning that the game could hit the shelves between January and March of 2015.
The game is also said to be similar to From Software’s acclaimed Souls series. Sony trademarked Bloodborne back in late-April .
