Fans of the original Chrono Trigger have reason to be extra excited today. The classic has suddenly become available for PC users through Steam . It is also available starting today through the Amazon AppStore , for those who wish to play it on the go. The Steam version of the game has some special extras that haven’t existed before, but the iOS and Android versions will be receiving these updates as well.
Without further ado, what does the PC version of Chrono Trigger include? Well it’s got a new autosave feature. You’ll still be able to use the original Save Point function, but the game will also autosave. The Steam version of Chrono Trigger can be played with either a controller or a mouse and keyboard, as it has been optimized for both. There are of course updated graphics and audio/music for Chrono Trigger on PC. Also, the two extra dungeons that first appeared in the Nintendo DS and mobile versions of the game are being included. These are the “Dimensional Vortex” and “Lost Sanctum.”
Those who get in on Chrono Trigger through PC early will get even more goodies. Purchases of the game from now until April 2, 2018 will award you three special bonuses. These include six PC wallpapers, digital liner notes from the game’s original composer (Yasunori Mitsuda), and a song file that includes five different tunes edited specially for you: “Chrono Trigger,” “Corridors of Time,” “Battle with Magus,” “Wind Scene,” and “Far Off Promise.”
