Were you considering buying Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare just for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered , then getting rid of the new game once you have it ? That might not work out so well for you. It turns out the fine print on the website suggests you can’t have one without the other. Hurrah for the digital age?
Here’s how this apparently works. If you get the physical copy of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare , you have to have the game in your system to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered . As a reminder, the extra game requires you to download it via a code before you can play it. So, if you buy the game to get that download, then sell your physical copy, that download on your system becomes useless. Naturally, this doesn’t apply to digital copies.
This is a very weird and very silly clause. It’s a shame that Activision feels like it has to require one game to enjoy another. Sure, it’s a good way to move copies of Infinite Warfare , but it isn’t going to make people who only wanted Modern Warfare Remastered very happy.
