COD: Infinite Warfare May Take up 130GB

Get ready to begin emergency hard drive maneuvers. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is coming. Copies are beginning to appear in the wild and the official website have been updated. Both physical boxes and online materials suggest you might need as much as 130GB free to play the game.

Activision says the high-end estimate for all versions of the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Legacy, Digital Deluxe, and Legacy Pro editions is 130GB. This figure takes into account installations for both games, the Day 1 update patches for those games, and the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered maps that will be released between launch and December 31. We already know Modern Warfare Remastered is about 40GB, which means Infinite Warfare , the patches, and the maps will be about 90GB total.

As crazy a figure as 130GB may be, it makes sense. Take WWE 2K17. With its day one patch, it’s taking up about 58GB on my hard drive. Gears of War 4 takes up 70-80GB. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare , a title that actually contains two games, could easily occupy 130GB. It might be time to get a new hard drive for your PS4 or an external drive for your Xbox One.
