Cortana Comes Built Into Your Windows Phone

Cortana Comes Built Into Your Windows Phone

If iPhone users have Siri, what do windows phones have? Well Master Chief is about to get a little jealous because each windows phone is soon going to get their own personal version of Cortana.

The Cortana digital assistant will be able to learn and adapt to the things that you search for. It will be able to tailor itself to your preferences, including your tastes in food and entertainment, your personal schedule, your frequently visited places and more. You can even give Cortana her own nickname. Unfortunately, Cortana doesn’t speak back to you the way Siri does. She only posts text to your phone’s screen.

Cortana is an opt-in service, so all those crazies out there that think we are getting spied on by Microsoft can rest easily. However, you will need a Microsoft account to use Cortana. In addition, Cortana will replace Bing in the near future. Maybe then Microsoft can finally get people using its search engine.

Cortana will launch as part of Windows 8.1 in late March or early April. She will eventually be upgraded to work on windows computers and Xbox One’s at a later date.
