Could Destiny Receive a PC Port?

Could Destiny Receive a PC Port?

While the development team at Bungie is focused on bringing the absolute best version of Destiny they possibly can to the next-gen (and last-gen) consoles, can we expect some PC love?

Eric Hirshberg (who is Activision CEO) threw a match on that powder keg of a rumor, when his recent comments suggested a port could very well be in our future. “It is a good fit, and it’s something we’re talking about and looking at very carefully, and obviously it makes a lot of sense with the genre and the type of game it is. No announcements, but it’s something that’s a heavy point of discussion.” He hints.

This has been a bone of contention for many mouse and keyboard gamers over the years, as we have not seen a PC port of Bungie’s most famous FPS (the Halo franchise) since its original sequel in 2004. Hirshberg, however, points to the challenges of transitioning from the consoles to desktops (as it’s not as simple as just copying and pasting the assets). Calling it a “different animal,” he states they “…want to make sure that we’re putting one foot in front of the other and getting it right, and that it’s of the highest possible quality. But obviously I see the same things about the natural fit.”

In the meantime, you can play Destiny on virtually every home console on the market, upon its release this September.
