The funky world of Nier is set to return in just a few short months when Nier: Automata releases for PlayStation 4. Set on war-torn Earth far in the future, it depicts the conflict between human-built androids and hostile machine invaders in a story directed by the incomparable Yoko Taro.
We’ve learned a little more about the game’s character customization system. You’ll be able to use “Plug-in Chips” to augment your abilities in various ways. These have functions that range from simply bolstering your stats to adding elements to the in-game HUD. I’m the type of player who wants to see every enemy’s HP, so I’ll definitely be using a Chip to add that feature. If you prefer speed-running, on the other hand, you’ll probably want to pump your attack and speed up as high as possible. There are options for everyone!
If the wait until March sounds unbearable, never fear: A demo for Nier: Automata will be available tomorrow on the PlayStation Network. Be sure to grab that demo for Gravity Rush 2 while you’re visiting the store, too.
