Sony’s efforts to bring our favorite PS2 games to the PS4 have been kind of hit and miss. The last game we got was Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits, which had me wondering why they even ran that hashtag campaign where we all suggested which games we wanted to see on the PS4. Were there really that many people begging for Arc the Lad? It hasn’t been all bad, anyway. We did get PaRappa the Rapper 2, Twisted Metal Black, and some other goodies.
On January 19 we’re set get another excellent PS2 title: Level-5’s RPG classic Dark Cloud 2. Now that’s a game that I do recall seeing many requests for. Dark Cloud 2 featured some excellent art direction and beautiful, cel-shaded graphics that looked great on the PS2; I’m betting that they’ve aged very well and I can’t wait to play through the game on my PS4. Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida has said that Sony is working tirelessly to crank out a consistent stream of PS2 titles for the PS4, so let’s hope for more solid titles like this one (and Gitaroo Man ).
