Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles Cheats & Cheat Codes for Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Windows, and More

Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles is a fighting action-adventure game developed by CyberConnect2 and published by Sega. Based on the anime and manga Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, the game was released on just about every major platform, coming out on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Despite the critical and commercial success of the manga and anime, critics were a little cooler on Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles. It stands at a 69 on Metacritic, which is hard to describe as anything other than average. Still, that didn’t stop it from selling over 3 million copies by March 2023, making it an undoubted financial success.

Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles is a unique hybrid of a fighting game, while still trying to retain much of what made the anime special. The Solo Play Mode is the star here, seeing you play as Tanjiro Kamado in a single-player adventure that adapts the first season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. It has some short periods of exploration, but the story is mostly told through a variety of cutscenes, without much gameplay at all! Most of the combat jumps between boss battles with demons, seeing you play through key scenes from the anime.

Solo Play isn’t the only mode of note here. There’s also a Versus mode, which allows you to choose two characters to fight against either NPCs or other players online. You can do this with local or online co-op too. If the combat side of the game appeals more to you than the story, then this is definitely a great way for you to enjoy Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles.

Because the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime first aired in 2019, the franchise is still dipping its toe in the video game industry for the first time. The anime catapulted the manga’s popularity to another level, allowing it to branch out to even more mediums.

Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles remains the first and only venture of the franchise into the video game medium. At least, so far. The manga remains one of the best-selling mangas of all time, with no signs of slowing down any time soon. It would be an enormous surprise if Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles was the last video game based on the franchise we see.

How Do You Get Kimetsu Points in Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles?

The game offers numerous ways for you to collect Kimetsu Points, which you can then spend on Reward Panels. But what’s the most efficient way to pick them up? Here are a few ways we know of:

Story Mode:

First, just explore the Story Mode thoroughly. At times, you’ll have the opportunity to grab several yellow and orange orbs – always make sure you grab them for a nice bunch of Kimetsu Points. You’ll have to explore to find these, though, as they’re not always found in obvious places.

Training:

The game gives you 12 training instructors to work your way through, each offering 1,500 Kimetsu Points for completion. This results in you earning a massive 18,000 Kimetsu Points, when all is said and done. Training Mode is absolutely one of the most efficient ways to earn Kimetsu Points in Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles.

Kimetsu Point Challenges:

Last but not least, you have the Kimetsu Point Challenges. These won’t be the fastest to complete, as a lot of them require you to partake in a lot of gameplay. However, as a way to passively earn Kimetsu Points over time, it’s a method we had to mention.
