Finishing homework in The Sims 4 is based around the new expansion, High School Years. Your teen Sims can now head to school like your adult Sims head to work. But finishing the homework takes a little know-how. Players don’t necessarily need to do homework, but it does improve grades faster. The most important thing is simply attending classes. There are different milestones for your teen Sim to complete, but you’ll not achieve any of them if you fail class. Make sure to attend class, and if your grades are struggling, stay on top of homework. As always, you’ll have to balance teen drama and popularity. It’s about the teen experience, so embrace the awkward moments, puberty, and school dances.
Sims 4 Premise

The Sims 4 was developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts. The game offers players a canvas upon which to paint the intricate tapestries of their virtual lives. Released in 2014 as the latest installment in the iconic Sims franchise, it takes the essence of its predecessors and refines it into a more immersive and visually stunning experience. The Sims 4 beckons players to embark on a journey of creativity, self-expression, and boundless storytelling, where every decision made carries the potential to forge unforgettable narratives.
Sims 4: High School Years
Electronic Arts describes the new DLC content as a glimpse back into the golden years.
“Copperdale High is the center of your teen Sims’ world. Inside these halls, Sims participate in everything that makes high school such a formative time in life, from building lifelong friendships, to selecting our favorite extracurricular activities and graduating into adulthood. During school hours, Sims attend class, hang out with friends, have lunch in the cafeteria, take weekly exams, and hopefully avoid being scolded by the principal who patrols the halls! After school, students can participate in activities like football, cheerleading, chess, and computer clubs, go to events like the science fair, or head home to their poster-filled bedroom to complete their homework.”
Most of the DLC is about exploration and discovery:
“Teen years and high school are the launching points for self-discovery. Creating even more ways for Sims to explore their identities, a free base game update will go live alongside the release of High School Years, introducing an additional new feature that will add more choice and opportunity for discovery to your Sims’ lives.”
How to Do Homework in The Sims 4
So, the confusing portion is that The Sims 4 doesn’t have a new school UI tab. Instead, players still have to use the career tab for their teen Sim. After clicking the tab, you’ll see a daily task to do homework. It only appears after they return home from school. Open the UI, click personal inventory, and click the prompt. They’ll then move to a table and start completing the task.
How Long Does it Take to do Homework in The Sims 4?
Depending on your study skills and the number of classes, homework can take some time in The Sims 4. Players have complained about the process taking up to eight hours of in-game time to complete, which is ridiculous. There are multiple ways to decrease the time spent studying. First, you need to level your study skills to at least three. Secondly, you need to use a study spot at a Library to increase your speed vastly. These are the best methods for decreasing the time spent studying.
