Sims 4: How to Use Cheats
Players will need to unlock cheats for The Sims 4, as they’re not toggled on. So to make cheats work, you need to turn on the cheat console and that’s different depending on the platform. Here are all the ways to do it:
- PC, Mac, and consoles using KBM: Ctrl + Shift + C or Command + Shift + C
- PlayStation: L1 + L2 + R1 + R2
- Xbox: LB + LT + RB + RT
Once the console is open, type “testingcheats on.” This will activate the cheats, allowing you input different commands. It should be noted, the trophies and achievements will not be attainable when cheats are activated. If you want to turn off cheats, open the console again and type “testingcheats off.” You can do this as many times as you want. So if you want to change the way you play, or if you get tired of certain cheat codes, you can turn it off. You’re not stuck playing the game with cheats, but your save file will not allow you to earn achievements even if you turn them off. So be prepared to have multiple save files if you change your mind.

There are three primary cheats for Simoleons or money in-game. They range in value, allowing players to choose from a different sum. That way, if a player wants only a little to help a project, or a lot to change their playstyle, they can do so.
After following the instructions above to activate cheats, enter these codes in the cheat console.
- “rosebud“: 1,000 Simoleons
- “kaching“: 1,000 Simoleons
- “motherlode“: 50,000 Simoleons
Or if you want to have the most amount of Simoleons possible, you can actually imput a specific amount. The most a household can have is 9,999,999 Simoleons. So open the cheat console and type “money 9999999.”
