At QuakeCon 2009, id Software showed off a demo kiosk with 1994’s Doom II: Hell on Earth. The sequel to one of gaming’s most hallowed franchises is set for re-release via Xbox LIVE Arcade, thanks to the porting talents of Nerve Software. According to ShackNews, which broke the story, “a whole new episode will be included, along with all of Doom 2’s original content. Four-player split-screen multiplayer will be available in addition to online play.” Unfortunately, this tidbit of news has not been made official, so no release date or price point has yet been set.
