The Collector’s Edition of Dragon Age: Origins, BioWare’s upcoming action-RPG, was announced today. The bundle will include a steel case, a cloth world map, a Making-of documentary, the Dragon Age: Origins soundtrack, game trailers, wallpapers, gaming tips, and a concept art video. Most importantly, “three exclusive downloadable items” will be granted to purchasers of the limited edition bundle that will likely prove as important as the Carbine is in Call of Duty: World at War. The Collector’s Edition will set you back $74.99 for the Xbox 360 or PS3 versions and $64.99 for PC. If you pick up the Xbox 360 or PC bundle (or standard edition), purchasers will also get access to downloadable content, one of which is a Dragon Age themed suit of armor that can actually be imported into Mass Effect 2. Finally, anyone who preorders the game will be given free access to the Memory Band, an item that, when equipped, provides a 1% boost to XP accumulation and 1 extra skill point.

As an added bonus, Dragon Age: Origins (both original and Collector’s Edition) includes two special pieces of downloadable content: The Stone Prisoner, as well as a suit of Dragon Age themed armor that can be used in Dragon Age: Origins as well as in the upcoming BioWare Shooter RPG, Mass Effect™ 2 on all available platforms. With The Stone Prisoner download pack, players will have access to Shale, the mighty stone golem who can become one of the most powerful party members in the game, and comes with its own personal back-story and unique quests for the player to discover.
