EA Partners Facing Closure

EA Partners Facing Closure

For a while, we have theorized that EA was going through some tough financial times. There have been several reports of layoffs at different EA studios over the last few months. Now, it appears as if this situation may be worse than we originally thought; Game Informer is reporting that the entire EA Partners label will soon be shut down.

The EA Partners label was a way for EA to contract publishing services to game developers. Developers that have benefitted from this program include Crytek, Double Fine, Harmonix, Valve, Insomniac, Epic Games, and many more.

EA Partners is run by 50 EA employees. So you know what this means: more layoffs.

This news is from an anonymous source who is supposedly close to both EA and Game informer, so take this with a grain of salt. The closing is not yet official, and EA has not yet commented on the matter.
