EA Restructures Leadership Personnel

EA Restructures Leadership Personnel

There seems to be big changes at EA on just about every level of management as things continue to get restructured.

The domino effect began as Andrew Wilson, former head of EA Sports, took over the CEO position. This led to Patrick Soderlund (former executive VP of EA Games) to move into the EA Sports spot, with Frank Gibeau taking over the running of Origin and EA’s mobile division.

This info was brought to Polygon from an “anonymous source.” Since then, an internal memo (recently obtained by VentureBeat) gives a more specific breakdown of exactly how the new restructuring shakes out. The highlights also include Peter Moore maintaining his oversight of the Global Publishing and Marketing organizations as well as EA’s Worldwide Customer Experience and Global Media Solutions teams.

In the memo, Andrew Wilson says about his new role: “I could not be more honored to be in this role and I am incredibly optimistic about the great work we will be able to do together in the future.”

For the full breakdown, you can check out the entire memo on VentureBeat; it details all the specifics on EA’s corporate restructuring. It will be interesting to see how these changes affect its attempt to navigate the landscape of the next chapter of this new console generation.
