Epic Mickey 2 Is Official, And It’s A Musical

None

Warren Spector has finally announced that Disney Epic Mickey 2 is in fact in development. The game will officially be called Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, and it will be made for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo Wii.

The game will primarily be played in co-op mode. Both Mickey and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit will be available to be controlled in both single-player and multiplayer. When another player isn’t present, one character will be controlled via A.I. However, another player can drop in and take control at any time.

The game will also be fully voice-acted, unlike its predecessor. This is particularly groundbreaking, as Oswald has never had a voice in any animated feature he’s been in. The game will also be one of the first “musical” games to ever be created. At different points in the game, the main characters will break into song in traditional Disney-esque style.

“I’m such a geek about musicals,” Spector said of the project. “I love the co-op and next-gen stuff, but for me, when a character breaks into song, which they do on a regular basis in this game, it’s magic.”
