Fable Creators Form New Studio

Fable Creators Form New Studio

None

Many people credit Peter Molyneux with the creation of hit Xbox RPG series Fable, but he couldn’t have done it without both Dene and Simon Carter, who created the franchise with him.

While Molyneux went on to lead Lionhead Studios, the Carters have different plans in mind. They were the original founders of Big Blue Box, which is one of Lionhead’s first satellite studios. However, they have recently left Lionhead, and have founded a new studio called Another Place Productions. Joining them are ex-Lionhead technical director Guillaume Portes and executive producer Jeremie Texier.

The Carters left Lionhead studio last year. At the time they said they were going to focus on indie game development for platforms like the Xbox LIVE Arcade, PlayStation Network, and, of course, mobile devices like the iPhone. As of now, we do not know what Another Place Productions will create, as no projects have been announced yet. However, we wouldn’t be surprised if the studio ended up casting its chips into the indie game pool, much as the Carters said they would do a year ago.
