If you didn’t get a chance to view the new footage of Far Cry 4 at the conferences earlier in the week, you missed a lot! At one point (as you barrel down a beautiful mountain vista in a golf-cart-esque vehicle) you hi-jack a truck, just to see it tip over and throw you down the mountain side. Fear not however, as your wing suit lets you glide down to safety at break-neck speed. On the ground, you call in backup as you lift-off in a gyrocopter (raining down sweet death from above with your machine gun). Finally, an elephant causes the sweetest explosion to end the trailer in a blaze of glory. And THAT was just five minutes worth of the next Far Cry 4 !
Besides gameplay footage, we’ve been kept in the dark regarding the game’s plot so far. However, one Reddit user was able to copy and paste a detailed description from Uplay (before it was quickly pulled down).
Here is what it describes (but take it with a grain of salt as this is not an official press release):
“ Hidden in the majestic Himalayas lies Kyrat, a country steeped in tradition and violence. You are Ajay Ghale. Traveling to Kyrat to fulfill your mother’s dying wish, you find yourself caught up in a civil war to overthrow the oppressive regime of dictator Pagan Min. Explore and navigate this vast open world, where danger and unpredictability lurk around every corner. Here, every decision counts, and every second is a story. Welcome to Kyrat .”
