FF VII Remake to be Fully Voiced

FF VII Remake to be Fully Voiced

I’m really nervous about this, y’all. Push Square has brought our attention to a Dengeki PlayStation magazine interview with Tetsuya Nomura, director of the hugely anticipated Final Fantasy VII remake, where he confirms that the game will be fully voiced. This could be great news, or this could be terrible news. Honestly, unless the voice actors are on point I’d much rather just read text in blue boxes, and that’s not a lie. We know for the Japanese version that each character will be voiced by their corresponding voice actor from the Advent Children movie, but there are many characters that didn’t appear in the movie. Cloud and Barret’s voices from the PlayStation Experience trailer were pretty on point; if I’m not mistaken, they were voiced by their Advent Children counterparts as well. We’ll see how this unfolds going into the future.

The interview also records producer Yoshinori Kitase admitting that the team behind the remake still isn’t sure whether or not they will be implementing an open world. “We can’t say anything yet, but we don’t plan on fussing about whether it’s a so-called open-world or sandbox,” he declared. “But since Nomura is more focused on the creation of the scenery, we want to express an environment where character actions affect the scenery.” I can respect his response. It sounds to me like they don’t want to make any promises early on that they’re not sure they can keep. We’ll keep you guys updated with all the FF VII latest.
