Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach is a 2021 survival horror game developed by Steel Wool Studios and published by ScottGames. The game was initially released only for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5, although Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S versions would eventually come in 2022 and 2023.
The Five Nights at Freddy’s series has never been a critical darling, and Security Breach is no exception to this. It currently holds a 64 on Metacritic, which is par for the course for the franchise across the board. With over 1.7 million copies sold as of March 2023, these middling reviews have clearly not put off gamers from wanting more from Five Nights at Freddy’s.
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach Premise
The gameplay in Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach follows the general series formula. You’re stuck in a Pizzaplex overnight, being hunted by a variety of spooky animatronics. The objective is to survive the night without being caught, with a number of tools at your disposal.
You play as Gregory, a young child locked in the Pizzaplex. You must use the game’s stealth mechanics to help him evade the animatronics, which can take plenty of planning to figure out. There’s still plenty to separate Security Breach from other games in the franchise, though. Free-roam and combat are a core part of the experience, compared to the point-and-click gameplay of previous titles. There are even boss battles, which had never been featured prior to this game. It taking place over a single night was new, too. Past games took place over five nights, but the change definitely gives the game a sense of urgency.
New features such as the Faz-Watch, Faz Camera, and the Fazerblaster offer new ways to deal with enemies. The more options the game presents, the more complex and interesting the gameplay becomes. Ultimately, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach is a game that doesn’t fully reinvent the wheel, but tries enough new ideas that long-time fans of the franchise will remain interested.
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach Main Characters
The Five Nights at Freddy’s series has often had a weird and wonderful cast of characters, thanks to the unique designs of the animatronics for which it is known. Titular Freddy Fazbear is the one constant throughout the series, and he makes a return in Security Breach, with a small twist. In fact, there are a few characters in Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach worth knowing about before playing the game. Here they are:
- Gregory: Gregory is the main protagonist of the game. He’s a young boy trapped inside Freddy Fazebear’s Mega Pizzaplex, and must use his wits to survive the night alone as he’s hunted by the numerous electronics.
- Glamrock Freddy: While Freddy is typically an antagonist in the Five Nights at Freddy’s games, Glamrock Freddy is actually a help to Gregory. He can be used for Gregory to hide from the other animatronics, although his limited battery means you must be careful with how much you use this.
- Vanessa: Vanessa is the main antagonist in the game, working as the security guard for the Pizzaplex. She’s also in charge of the animatronics, directing them to capture Gregory.
- Glamrock Chica: Glamrock Chica is another of the antagonists, hunting Gregory throughout the Pizzaplex. One of Gregory’s main objectives in the game is to decommission Glamrock Chica, and put her off his trail for good.
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach Titles in the Series
The Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise began life as a response to developer Scott Cawthorn’s previous releases, which were criticized for being unintentionally scary. He found he was much better at intentional horror, with the series bursting onto the scene back in 2014. Aided massively by exposure from YouTube creators, Five Nights at Freddy’s was an instant hit.
ScottGames took no risks with the potential shelf life of Five Nights at Freddy’s, pumping out three sequels within a year. As the series retained longevity, releases slowed in the years since, even with similar titles such as Poppy Playtime emerging. Nowadays, new mainline games are only released every few years. The series itself is a household name, even getting a 2023 movie starring Josh Hutcherson.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach Cheat Codes
Like most games in the franchise, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach doesn’t have any cheat codes to enter. It’s a shame, but it’s nothing new for long-time fans. That said, the Five Nights at Freddy’s community is an active bunch, and there are third-party cheats for the game that you can download instead.
We’d particularly recommend one of the WeMod trainers for the game. This allows you to toggle a few different settings, which can give you an entirely new Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach experience. The settings the WeMod trainer allows you to change are:
- Unlimited Stamina
- Unlimited Freddy Battery
- Super Flashlight
- Super Speed
- Unlimited Flashlight
- Set Security Level
It goes without saying these are only available on the PC version of the game. As of right now, there’s no way to download cheats on any of the console versions of Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach. Frankly, that doesn’t look likely to change any time soon either.
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach Cheat Code FAQs
Can I Cheat the Six Endings in Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach?
Unfortunately not. Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach has six different endings that you can experience. However, which one you receive in your playthrough depends entirely on your own actions. There is no way to cheat to decide which one that you get.
Why Are There No Cheats For Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach on Console?
As these cheats are all made by a third party and are not official, there’s just no way to access them on console. Consoles such as the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 are typically restrictive in what players are able to install, and Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach is just one game that suffers from this.
It’s one of the main benefits of PC gaming. Being able to install mods and cheats for games that previously had none gives new life to titles.
