Gabe Newell Inducted Into AIAS Hall Of Fame

Valve president and co-founder Gabe Newell will be the 17 th member inducted into the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame, it was announced today.

Good ol’ Gaben will be joining the likes of Tim Sweeny, Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk, John Carmack, Shigeru Miyamoto, Sid Meier, and many other legends of the video game industry.

Epic Games head honcho Mike Capps will be presenting Newell with the award at 2013 DICE awards, where Newell will also serve as a keynote speaker.

“Gabe is a living legend of the video games industry, and his relentless focus on customer experience has made our whole industry a better place,” remarked Capps. “Valve’s unconventional success is an inspiration for us all, and I couldn’t be more pleased to present Gabe’s Hall of Fame award.”
