Mike Maulbeck Won’t Leave Game Industry After All

It didn’t’ take long for Paranautical Activity creator Mike Maulbeck to go back on his promise of leaving the video game industry, as we know now learn he’ll be staying with Code Avarice.

In an official statement posted to their website , the developer states fear of being unable to replace his income played a large part in Maulbeck’s decision to back-pedal on his original resignation. “… Mike couldn’t commit to his decision to leave Code Avarice…in the weeks following his official stepping down Mike had second thoughts. Looking for a new source of income was extremely overwhelming and when it finally came time to put pen to paper, Mike and Travis agreed the best thing to do would be to have Mike return to Code Avarice.”

Maulbeck made headlines over his now infamous Twitter outburst, where he threated to kill Valve’s Gabe Newell back in October. This came as a result of their finished product being posted into the wrong section of Steam, thus causing Maulbeck to lose his cool a bit. In the aftermath, he promised to step down, stating he was unfit to act as the face of a video game company.

Valve’s Gabe Newell has yet to respond to this recent news, but this sudden turn-about does not bode well for their chances of ever getting their future products back on Steam.
