GameStop and Insomnia are Singing a Song of the Deep

It was only a matter of time before GameStop moved from game pushing to game publishing. That day will be sometime this summer. GameStop is publishing Insomniac Games’ new Metroidvania title, a game called Song of the Deep. Yes, GameStop owns Kongregate, but this is different.

Song of the Deep stars Merryn, a young woman whose fisherman father has disappeared. A prophetic dream suggests he’s underwater, so she builds a submarine and goes into the deep to find him. She’ll explore ruins, meet friends and foes, and hopefully find her dad again.

Here’s the first trailer.

Song of the Deep is going to be available on both consoles and computers. Come this summer, you can find it on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PCs.It’ll be $14.99.
