Insomniac Games All-In for Oculus Rift

Insomniac Games All-In for Oculus Rift

We’ve seen Insomniac Games branching out in many ways lately. We’re excited to play Song of the Deep , which is being published by GameStop’s new publishing company GameTrust. The partnership between Insomniac and GameStop is anything but traditional, and will likely pave the road for similar partnerships in the future. In addition to progressive new publishing partnerships, Insomniac is dabbling in another cutting-edge niche: virtual reality. The Ratchet & Clank developer is working on three VR projects right now, and all of them are set to release exclusively for the Oculus Rift.

We heard about Edge of Nowhere , a chilling adventure / horror game, during the Oculus VR E3 conference last year. Today we’re learning about two new games in development for the Rift. The first is called Feral Rites , which sounds like a pretty slick action / adventure game with the “exploration of Zelda ” and the “all-out combat of God of War.” The other game, titled The Unspoken, seems a little more original. The Unspoken is a PvP-centric, wizard dueling game. You’ll take first-person control of a wizard who can hurl various spells from either hand (using the Oculus Touch controllers) at an opposing wizard who will attempt to deflect and counter your attacks with his own, powerful magic. Both games sound promising, but I’ll be dying to see some footage of The Unspoken as it nears release.
