The massive Gearbox Software PAX East 2019 presentation has come and gone, and 2019 is now officially the year of Borderlands . Three different Borderlands games were announced, both of the board and video varieties, with the biggest revelation being Borderlands 3 . It is a good time to go vault hunting.
Borderlands 3 received its first trailer at the event. We saw hints at the first four playable characters, who appear to be a man with gadgets, a Siren with guns, a woman with a mech, and a robot with pets. The two new villains were shown. Returning characters included a grown-up Tiny Tina, Tales from the Borderlands ‘ Rhys, Brick, Claptrap, Marcus, Patrica Tanner, and Sir Hammerlock. People will also visit multiple worlds. No release date was set or platforms named, but more details will arrive on April 3, 2019.
Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition was announced too. This is a bundle of everything included in the original installment, like DLC. It is also a bit of a remaster, with updated visuals on the PS4 and Xbox One, more character customizations, and split-screen co-op for up to four players. That means 4K and HDR for the PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X. It will be out for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 3, 2019. If someone already owns the existing PC version, then this new stuff will arrive as a free upgrade on that date.
Finally, there is a card game coming out. Gearbox, XYZ Game Labs, and Nerdvana Games are making Borderlands: Tiny Tina’s Robot Tea Party , a card game that went on sale for the first time at PAX East 2019. Between two and five people are each working and collecting cards to try and build Claptraps.
