God of War’s Final Secret Has Been Discovered

God of War’s Final Secret Has Been Discovered

During the 2018 San Diego Comic-Con, we learned there was only one secret left to find in God of War. The developers had stated that a recently released comic would contain a hint to help uncover the Easter egg. Of course, that didn’t mean that the secret wouldn’t remain buried for decades, as is sometimes the case. Fortunately, the community found it within days.

Now, I want to warn you! Stop reading if you are afraid of spoilers.

A subreddit, appropriately titled GodofWarSecrets, went to work and found something that they thought might be it. Senior Concept Artist, Joe Kennedy confirmed that what they had discovered was, indeed, the Easter egg. In Kratos’ house, there are some runes. They spell out a name. The name is the true identity of a major character in the game. That character is Kratos’ son.

If you’re still reading, it is no accident and you want to hear this: that name is Loki.

It’s interesting that the secret references a major part of the story before it is even revealed. That isn’t typically how these things go. That’s why I think this Easter egg is so cool, even though some members of the community are entirely disappointed.
