ArenaNet has announced that Guild Wars 2 reached over one million pre-orders in the lead-up to today’s official launch. For those of you keeping track at home, that’s a lot.
On top of that already-astounding number, the developer also revealed that over 400,000 players were logged in and crafting their way through the game during its early launch earlier this week concurrently. That means at the same time. You people really wanted to play this game.
“This is the culmination of a five-year journey and to be greeted by this level of enthusiasm by our fans is truly amazing,” said ArenaNet president and co-founder Mike O’Brien. “But really our work is just beginning. Now our focus is shifting to building on this living world we’ve delivered, continuously refining our game and improving services to ensure our players have the best possible experience.”
