ArenaNet has announced that Guild Wars 2, its highly anticipated next MMO, will officially be releasing August 28 in North America and Europe. In preparation for the launch, a final Beta Weekend Event will take place from July 20-22. The next entry in the Guild Wars franchise will be subscription-free, and will launch at two separate price points: $59.99 for the basic digital edition, and $79.99 for the deluxe digital edition, which will contain a handful of in-game bonuses. There was a Collector’s Edition available, but it has long sold out.
