Happy Birthday PlayStation

Happy Birthday PlayStation

None

For an older gamer like me, it seems like only yesterday when Sony stole the show at the first E3 by simply walking up to the podium and saying $299, which priced the original PlayStation a full hundred dollars less than what Sega was charging for their new Saturn console. From there, the rest is history, with the PlayStation brand going on to become one of the most dominant in the industry, selling over 377 million consoles and over 2 billion pieces of software to date.

So how does Sony plan on celebrating the original PlayStation’s fifteen year anniversary? By giving back to their current fans in the form of free stuff and discounted games, of course. PS3 and PSP owners can currently download free static themes, Home users can grab themselves a free original PlayStation ornament to decorate their personal spaces, and there will be weekly discounts on PS1 Classics on PSN, including Super Rub A Dub at fifty percent off from the ninth through the twentieth. Congratulations Sony, Enos still lives in the hearts and minds of PlayStation fans everywhere.
