Hardware: Rivals Revives the Series after 13 Years

Hardware: Rivals Revives the Series after 13 Years

A long time ago, there was an online PS2 game called Hardware: Online Arena . It let people fight each other in tanks and cars and was one of the first online multiplayer games for the system. The series faded away for a while, but will return thanks to the newly formed PlayStation Home Platform Group as Hardware: Rivals .

Let’s start things off with a trailer showing how Hardware: Rivals plays.

Hardware: Rivals will be a PlayStation Store exclusive and looks a little like a modern version of those tank batting games we’d see on the Atari 2600 and Intellivision. It’s going to be a competitive experience where you work alone or on a team, going through multiple modes, challenges, and events on an assortment of maps.

A Hardware: Rivals beta will apparently be held “soon,” so we’ll get to see how much fun it is to go after each other in cars and tanks soon. Maybe it’ll be a hit with the Rocket League crowd.
