Crossplay is Sony’s term for a new feature they revealed alongside the Playstation Vita at their E3 press conference tonight. With Crossplay, gamers will be able to play together in online matches with others who have the same game on different hardware. To facilitate this announcement, Sony stated that Crossplay would allow owners of Wipeout 2048, the upcoming entry in the long-running futuristic racing series, to engage in up to eight-player races, with racers playing on either the Playstation 3 or the Playstation Vita.  This running theme of connectivity among devices in the Playstation brand will soon be extended to non-Sony devices via the Playstation Suite, which will begin by enabling Playstation content on Playstation-certified Android phones and tablets. |
