Head of Inti Creates Calls Mighty No. 9 Trailer “Unforgivable”

Mighty No. 9 just can’t catch a break. After several delays and a lot of angry fans expressing their disappointment, Mighty No. 9 is finally on the way. The game is due out June 21, and publisher Deep Silver has released a new trailer, titled “Master Class,” that’s been generating a lot of buzz for all of the wrong reasons. Continuing the trend of insultingly cheesy narration and attempts to sound edgy, the Master Class trailer cranks out one cringe-worthy line after another. There’s one line in particular, where the narrator quips that players will make “bad guys cry like an anime fan on prom night,” that comes across as needlessly condescending. Then there’s the explosion scene, pictured above, with flames and explosions that viewers have observed resemble pieces of pizza smashed together.

Head of Mighty No. 9 developer Inti Creates, Takuya Aizu, isn’t happy. He openly called the trailer horrible, tweeting , “What the hell was D*** *il*** thinking making a crappy PV like this?! Unforgivable.” It’s not hard to fill in the blanks there; Aizu was calling out Deep Silver in a way that wouldn’t show up on its Twitter bots. We all know who he’s yelling at, though, and they deserve it. If you haven’t already seen the trailer, you can watch it right here:
