High on Life is a first-person shoot game that works like an action adventure with heavy comedic elements. The game takes place in a fictional world in which guns can talk. The extreme hype for the game is based around Justin Roiland, who created the game. He was the co-creator of Ricky and Morty, and many of the dark humor moments from the show are trickled into the game. He also does many of the voices. But what about the secret ending? The game is linear in design, but that doesn’t mean you’re stuck with one ending.
Players will have to complete the entire game to unlock the secret ending. The extra ending is more about teasing future projects than its building on the current story. So, if you want to remain surprised, I would skip out on this one.
High On Life Premise

The game is developed and published by Squanch Games, bringing a chaotic and hilarious shooter to a crowded genre. For many, it was a breath of fresh air.
The game’s premise goes as follows, “The player character and their sister Lizzie have the house to themselves while their parents go away on a trip. While going out to get supplies for a wild party Lizzie plans to throw, an alien craft appears. Hiding behind a parked car, the player character and Lizzie witness one of the aliens killing their neighbor while his allies suddenly kill another. The player investigates the dead alien’s body and finds a smaller-looking alien in its jacket before being spit on by it, allowing them to communicate with each other. Introducing himself as the Gatlian Kenny, he reveals to the player that their planet is being invaded by Garmantuous and the G3 Cartel which plans to turn the entire human race into drugs. To avoid being captured, the player and Kenny work together to escape Earth and warps their house to Blim City.”
The game is definitely catered toward a more mature audience. Despite the cartoonish violence and characters, the game explores adult themes and issues. Much like Rick and Morty, the game isn’t afraid to use dark humor and actually rewards players if they explore different avenues throughout the game.

High On Life Secret Ending Explained
Unlike games like Far Cry, the secret ending is toward the completion of the game and only requires a few steps.
After watching the credits, press “continue game.” Then, utilize the Bounty-5000 to access the planet selection menu, where you should choose Nova Sanctis and navigate to Clugg’s Office. Collect the keycard from his desk, return home, and once more select the Bounty-5000, opting for the unknown sector. Pick the Human Haven and search for ascending platforms. Utilize your jetpack to reach the highest point, where you’ll discover a door illuminated by red lights. Unlock the door with the keycard and proceed through it to unveil the secret ending.
Keep on following the main path, and you’ll encounter the scientist. Once he finishes his conversation, Kenny humorously mentions that we must await a sequel to discover the outcome. Exiting the room, you’ll find Clugg’s workers eagerly waiting for you. They’ll express their commitment to assisting you and humanity in any way possible. After their discussion concludes, you’ll have the opportunity to depart from Human Haven and return home.
The ending is clearly teasing a sequel for the series, but uncertainty has clouded the game’s future. Justin Roiland was accused of domestic battery and false imprisonment. After the initial accusations, multiple people came forward with their own allegations of abuse and sexual harassment. Adult Swim announced later that Roiland had been dismissed from Rick and Morty, and Squanch Games affirmed that Roiland had resigned from the company on Jan. 16, 2023. In March 2023, the criminal charges against Roiland were dismissed due to insufficient evidence. However, the projects are moving on without him at the moment.
