Humble Bundle Becomes More Humble

Humble Bundle Becomes More Humble

Your favorite, charitable game-seller has hit a bit of a snag. Humble Bundle is a game store that offers some incredible “pay-what-you-want” bundles on PC games, mobile games, and audiobooks. Most bundles include three or four games for which you set a price, and then decide how much of that price goes to charity and how much goes to Humble Bundle itself. There are also bonus games included for those who decide to pay more than the average donation. It’s a great way to give to some worthy charities and get some awesome games for a killer price.

It would seem that after some “overly ambitious” hiring decisions, Humble was forced to scale back a bit in order to make ends meet. “Unfortunately, last week Humble Bundle was forced to let go of some of our employees,” co-founder John Graham stated in an email to Polygon. “Despite strong revenue, and our community surpassing $65 million raised for charity to date, our past hiring was too ambitious and we had to make a hard call last week.”

We wish a lot of luck and a quick turnaround for those whose jobs were affected, and we expect Humble Bundle to continue to do great work through the kind donations of developers and gamers.
